When it comes to reeds, you get what you pay for. Cheap reeds do not last as long or sound as good. The best value for your money are Vandoren reeds. You may purchase them in town or online.

What to look for:
- Make sure you are getting reeds for your specific instrument (clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, bass clarinet, etc.)
- Make sure you are getting the right strength. Most beginners start with a reed strength of 2.5. More advanced players can use a strength of 3. A reed strength of 2.0 is too soft, won't sound good, and won't last long.
